Dear Hudson Resident,
I am honored to be running for the Board of Selectman 3-year term and appreciate your willingness to get to know me as a candidate. As a first-generation college student, I have always worked hard and have dedicated myself to helping others and my community in various ways.
My work experience has taken me from being a painting contractor, to Dunkin Donuts, retail, management consulting, large corporations, non-profits, mom and pop shops, and now to owning my own business as an entrepreneur. Throughout my work experience I have served on and led various organizations and have influenced the vision and direction of those organizations, committees, and boards.
Growing up on Long Island, New York, doing my undergraduate work in New York City, then moving with my husband to Rhode Island, where I obtained my Master of Science Degree from the University of Rhode Island, we landed in Hudson where we own our forever home.
Skills and values I will bring to the Board of Selectmen:
The ability to openly listen to all of Hudson residents' viewpoints.
Listening is the most important leadership skill.
My favorite quote and a principle I try to live by is from Stephen Covey, "Seek first to understand, then to be understood."
The ability to synthesize all information and varied perspectives; therefore, forming pointed questions that will assist in decision making.
Seeking accurate and comprehensive understanding of a topic from varying angles by asking questions which round out the conversation and inform any decision made by the board.
I believe, this conversation and vetting of information needs to be transparent and done in public view.
I will always research and document the source of information to confirm fact validity.
Today, I believe it is extremely important to know where information originated and to understand any bias which might come from any given research or author.
To the best of my ability, I will raise those points as I share any research that I am using during any debate.
I have a clear working understanding of the town of Hudson's rules of order, by-laws, and regulations.
If I do not understand something, I will diligently seek to understand it prior to deciding on an issue.
Every one of my decisions and votes will be a combination of the public input, my research, and conversations with fellow board members.
It would be disingenuous to tell you how I would vote on any given topic, but I can commit to doing the best that I can to ensure the public knows and understands how I came to my decision on any given motion.
If I am not clear, please reach out. I will do my best to clarify.
I believe my multi-faceted approach on policy and procedures will add transparency and insight into all decisions made by the Hudson Board of Selectmen.
With the master plan moving forward, and the hundreds of residents who have had input, I look forward to diving in and helping to fulfill the hopes and dreams residents have for our town. Seeking to build up the Hudson Community, I hope to empower community members to share their expertise, skills, and gifts to create partnerships within our community where we all take actions to continue to make Hudson "A Great Town to Call Home".
Please continue to engage in the election process. Please look at my website and my postings, videos, etc., which will continue to go up throughout the campaign. Be informed and make your decision on March 14th. The decision for who serves on the Board of Selectman is in your hands as are the other open positions and the warrant articles. Be an informed voter.
Thank you for your time, and if you have any questions for me directly, please do not hesitate to call, text, or e-mail me:
